Our orthopedic physician assistant plays a crucial role in our ability to provide excellent patient care. As part of the Orthopaedic Associates of Marlborough team, they provide medical care under the supervision of our orthopedic surgeons. Physician assistants work ranges from performing examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and assisting the orthopedic surgeon in surgery. Typically, they perform a complete history and physical for new patients, orders any necessary x-rays and diagnostic tests. Their role as communicator/coordinator frees our orthopedic doctors to perform additional surgeries and attend to more complex cases.
